At Long Island City's award-winning Water's Edge Restaurant with its breathtaking views (overlooking Manhattan), Imani and Ostus declared their love for each other. Every splendid detail of this cultural celebration in shades of seafoam green, lilac and lavender was captured by Funico Studios. I'm especially fond of the very last image below. There's just something special about the angle at which this photo was taken and being in black and white, it's simply divine.
Being of Muslim faith, the bride wore an exquisite custom-designed headdress and longer-sleeved gown for the ceremony. Also, the African American tradition of jumping the broom was incorporated into the ceremony. A successful wedding celebration is all about the details. One of my favorites? The creative way in which the wedding programs were presented: in a wicker basket and individually wrapped and tied with florals and ribbon. So pretty! The candles and petals lining the aisle and the florals on the jumping broom and head table were also elegant touches.
