Circus Wedding Theme Works for Birthdays Too

Yesterday, I decided to celebrate my birthday with a spa day and was absolutely delighted to return home to a surprise circus themed birthday celebration, courtesy of my son.   There were colorful paper lanterns, cotton candy, circus peanuts, popcorn and other goodies.   I felt like I was at an indoor carnival.

The entire design reminded me of the circus wedding theme featured earlier in this blog but of course I like my birthday celebration much better :-).    Everything is so whimsically beautiful that I may leave the lanterns up until they disintegrate.

Handing Out Wedding Programs

Now that they're pretty and printed, you have several options for handing out wedding programs.    Resources below.:

1. Have one or two hostesses pass them out as guests arrive.   Anyone who is not actively participating in the ceremony can pass them out.
2. Place the wedding programs in an attractive basket so that guests may take one upon arrival. (the programs could also be placed in the basket to keep them neat as hostesses are passing them out)
3. Place a program on each seat at the ceremony.

Wedding Cake Table Decorations

Depending on the table size you'll be working with, there are a myriad of options for your wedding cake table decorations.    Flower petals, candles and framed photos are popular design elements for adding an elegant and personal touch.

No matter how elaborate your decorating plans, at a minimum your cake table should have:   cake napkins, cake serving set, plates and/or cake bags/boxes.    These items can be set out close to serving time if you choose but if they complement the style or color of your cake and there's room, why not let them add to the overall decorating scheme?
