Creative Ideas for Something Old, Something New...

Gathering items for the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue can be such fun.   However, it could always be made more fun or interesting.   The something new is easy because, after all, you've just purchased a lot of fabulous new things for your big day.   Here are some creative ideas for handling the other three:

Something Old
  • Antique comb, pin or barrette
  • Family heirloom jewelry
  • A baby bracelet from a family member incorporated into the base of your bouquet
Something Borrowed
  • A relative's luxury car to chauffeur you to the reception
  • A family Bible for the ceremony
  • A fur stole, for a winter wedding
Something Blue
  • Have your initials and wedding date embroidered onto your dress lining in baby blue.
  • Paint your toenails in a sparkly and trendy shade of blue.
  • Sapphire jewelry
