Love Letter Wedding Theme - Sweetly Romantic

The Love Letter wedding theme is perfect for a couple whose wedding day represents the fairy tale ending to a long-distance relationship.  If you used love letters to express your heartfelt sentiments during your time apart (it could still happen in this tech-obsessed world), why not make the letters a part of your wedding celebration?   Incorporating love letters and postage into ceremony and reception decorations, wedding favors and even the wedding cake will make the most of this romantic theme.  Was your courtship more of a local affair?  The Love Letter theme can still be used to enhance the amorous mood at your wedding.

To add even more romance to your wedding ceremony, a Love Letter Ceremony will serve as a lasting reminder of the commitment you make to one another.

Guest Blogger: DIY Wedding Planning Tips by My Wedding Workbook

Today's guest post is brought to you by Rosanna of My Wedding Workbook (an online wedding planning resource).  Rosanna offers the following 5 tips for DIY Wedding Planning:

Wedding Email
The key to DIY wedding planning is staying organized, and having an email specifically for your wedding will definitely help. Organize your emails into separate folders for venues, DJ’s, florists, etc. The wedding email is my favorite tip for DIY brides. It’s small, but you’ll be surprised how much it helps.

Task Calendar
Staying on task is key. There are so many deadlines associated with weddings, and you want to make sure you don’t miss any of them! Check your task calendar daily, and be aware of tasks coming up that you may need to plan for. For example, prepare for a meeting with a bridal salon by preparing a list of dress must-haves.

Log On
Having all of your planning resources online allows you to access it from virtually anywhere. I also recommend keeping an online inspiration board that you can easily upload pictures and notes to.  It’s more space efficient as well as eco-friendly!

Do Your Homework
Meeting with vendors can be scary if you’re not prepared.  To avoid being taken advantage of, research vendors before you meet with them. Reach out to other brides in your area and ask for recommendations. When you do meet with a vendor, bring a checklist of questions to the meeting and make sure they’ve all been answered before you leave.

Online Wedding Community
As you probably know, there are plenty of wedding-related forums on the Internet.  Bookmark a few that correlate with the theme of your wedding, and connect with similarly minded brides. Whereas friends may not understand your wedding related troubles, other brides have encountered a lot of the same issues and have great advice.

Above all, have fun!
Rosanna

What Wedding Accessory Will Make Your Day Complete?

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from other brides-to-be.  When asked the following question:  "What is your must-have wedding accessory -  the one thing you must have to make your wedding day complete?", here are some of the responses received.    A few of the responses are in line with one of 2010's hottest wedding trends.  Can you spot them?

  • disposable cameras.  These memories will last forever and I want everyone to help capture them.  Audra
  • an Anne Wood sweetheart bird cake topper. I've been trying to replicate them myself since she wasn't taking orders because she was so backlogged, but they don't even compare! Although we are planning a budget wedding and saving on most everything else, this is the one splurge I am willing to pay a weeks wages for!  Kelsey
  • A unique awesome cake topper!  Shawna
  • Because I plan on having a beach wedding, my must-have accessory would be an aisle runner to protect my dress!  Crissen
  • a fun favor to give my guests. Something they will enjoy taking home, rather than something that will end up in everyone's "Goodwill" bag in a month.   Nicole
  •  memorial candle to honor my father.  I lost him on November 2, 2009 to cancer.  Mandy
  •  Bright Pink Shoes! (for the bride).  Kelly
  • awesome hair barrett that stands out b/c I am kind of plain.  Amanda
  • Pair of red heels with a bow. My colors are red with yellow accents and my wedding wouldn't be complete without me in a white dress with red shoes!  Katie
  • The one accessory that is a must for our wedding is the veil. I can't wait until my fiance lifts it up and kisses me!  Monica
  • Candles! Candles add magic and mood to every occasion and my wedding can be transformed from ordinary to extraordinary with gentle sparkling lights.  Lisa
  • Mark - The man of my dreams.  Jillian
  • Birdcage veil.  I know my mom wants me to have a demure chapel veil, but I love the vintage look.  Alicia
  • A great necklace for my V-Neck dress.   Lauren
  •  Unique guest book, we are looking at maybe having a guitar for everyone to sign.  Katie
  •  A unique piece of jewelry for each of my bridesmaids because my special day would not be as wonderful without them.   Sasha
  • A blue birthstone ring my mother bought for my 16th birthday that I lost that day (she still doesn’t know) and had to re-purchase.  Christin
  • a Timeless Tiara.  I would feel like a princess getting my Prince Charming!"  Charaya
  • my HOTPINK shoes!!!!  a girl has to have cute shoes!!! :)  Maggie
  • Heart shaped sand ceremony vase set.  Samantha
